Les yeux au ciel: One of the most significant and touching images
of this edition of Paris-Nice. Alexandre Vinokourov on the podium in
Cannes, eyes to the sky, as a tribute to fallen comrade Andrei Kivilev.
Vino and Kivilev were very close friends, who took their first steps into
the French amateur scene together.

Spain's Joaquín Rodríguez (ONCE-Eroski) celebrating his well-deserved win
in the penultimate stage of the 2003 Paris-Nice, finishing into the world
famous city of Cannes, in the southeast of France. Rodriguez was the
fastest in a small bunch sprint.

One of France's best prospects, Sylvain Chavanel of Brioches La Boulangère,
wearing the blue jersey of the Young Riders classification leader.

A very original competition was organized during this Paris-Nice, the "Phonak
last kilometre," a particular contest reserved for children and covering
the final km. of each stage. Here is the "mini-peloton" on their small
bikes, competing in Cannes. |

Phonak baby sprint: And here are the stars of the 2010 (and 2020) crossing
the line. |

After Laurent Jalabert retired at the end of 2002, cycling lost a true
champion. But French TV gained a brand new commentator. And a very good
one as well. Here's a curious expression from "Jaja" in Cannes. |
