Chickamauga is a friendly town nestled in the Appalachian foothills in the Northwestern corner of Georgia. Chickamauga is often referred to as the "Mayberry" of Georgia, a moniker the town strives to maintain and encourage. Chickamauga has a rich and turbulent history, from the original Cherokee Indian settlements in the late 1700's to the two-day Battle of Chickamauga in September 1863 during the Civil War. Attractions such as Civil War battlefield sites, natural springs, and Lookout Mountain are all located in the area.
