"Virtual Ride" of the Tour of California Stage 7 Part 3 The Finish
Stage 7 is a 10 laps of a 7.65 mile circuit through the Southern California
community of Redondo Beach this Sunday afternoon at 1pm. The course has elements
that will test the riders with a few tight chicanes and transitions from six
lanes to two providing opportunities for breakaways to develop during the final
stage of the first Tour of California.

After the final turn is negotiated, the road opens up to 4 wide lanes passing a
local landmark, a large mural painted on the wall of the local power plant
depicting the Blue Whales that migrate through the Pacific Ocean each year....
this landmark will be the beginning to the march of the sprinters to capture the
podium in the final stage...it no doubt will serve as the background for many
photo opps.

5 wide lanes as we approach the finish...the last wide sweeping turn... the
sprinters trains are now in full flite to deliver their rider to the front in
position to win...

A Sprinters eye - view as the line approaches at Herondo and Harbor Drive

The finish is just past the sign, at the intersection... heart rates roar as the
sprinter trains release their mates in the final rush to victory...

This is it almost time to raise your arms to salute in victory ... will it be
Charles Dionne, O'Grady, Fast Freddy Rodriguez, Haselbacher, Weggman, or J.J.
Haedo and George Hincapie battling out for a hat trick of stage wins...

Or will it be a close up break of six to ten riders brave and fast enough to
escape the bunch in one of the chicanes on the course and power to the finish
ahead of a tired peloton that has raced a fast and furious tour

or if this is your first lap finished, you only have 9 more laps to finish the
First Tour of California...
