The Slovene cyclist Borut Bozic (Perutina) won the last stage 90 km stage on the finishing circuit in Havana  today in a sprint to the wire with American Joseph Papp. Papp was surprised in the closing metres when Bozic slipped by on his right for the victory.

Pedro Pablo Perez of Cuba, trapped by Bozic's move finished in third place to secure his 4th victory in the 31rst Vuelta a Cuba. Perez also picked up the points jersey for sprints with a sizeable margin of 65 points over his nearest rival Michel Fernández (Pista/Cuba.)

Matija Kvasina of Croatia finished second in the G.C. with Franklin Chacon of Venezuela rounding out the podium for this tour. Gianluca Cavalli of Italy was fourth (48 seconds); with the Young Gun of Venezuela Jackson Rodriguez at 53 seconds taking 5th place, second in the Mountains Classification and the U-23 crown, a young man we are likely to hear more from as his career develops.

Arnold Alcolea (Cuba) the winner Perez' team mate won the Mountains Jersey.
