Augusto Sanchez of Dominican Republic Victorious in Cardenas
In the longest escape of the Cuban Tour, el quisqueyano Augusto Sánchez of the
Dominican Republic Team won the sprint from his break compatriot Wendy Cruz (Caico/Puerto
Rico); the tenth stage at 177 km from Cienfuegos to Cardenas was completed
in 4.00.11. Third place went to American Joe Papp who finished in under a
minute behind Cruz and Sanchez winning the group sprint to podium. The Cuban
Pedro Pablo Perez remains in de Amarillo Vestido.

Cardenas (zciclismo) En la fuga mas larga del giro cubano, el quisqueyano
Augusto Sánchez del selecionado dominicano se impuso a su compatriota Wendy Cruz
quien corre con el Caico de Puerto Rico. quienes agenciaron en los 177 km que
separan Cienfuegos de Cardenas 4.00.11 en el tercer lugar arribo el
estadounidense Joe Papp a menos de un minuto. Sigue vestido de amarillo el
cubano Pedro Pablo Perez.

Vuelta a Cuba
The Cuban Pedro Pablo Pérez keeps the Yellow Jersey as leader of the 31 Vuelta a
Cuba after conquering the sprint on the 140 km ninth stage between Santa Clara
and Cienfuegos. Perez relegated Slovene Borut Bozic (Perutnina) to second
and Venezuelan Juan Torres (Partizan) to third. Pablo increases his lead and
looks unshakeable for the remaining stages.

Cienfuegos (zciclismo) El cubano Pedro Pablo Pérez se aferra en el liderato de
la XXXI Vuelta a Cuba tras vencer la novena etapa disputada entre Santa Clara y
Cienfuegos, de 140 Km. relegando en a la segunda y tercera casilla al esloveno
Borut Bozic (Perutnina) y al venezolano Juan Torres (Partizan).

Venezuela Anounces Roster for the 27th Vuelta Independencia in the
Dominican Republic
February 25 to March 5
Artemio Leonett president of Feve-ciclismo announced today that Venezuelan
cyclists will defend the national colors in the Return XXVII to Vuelta
Independencia, which will be staged in Dominican Republic between February 25 to
March 5.
The event will race 1092 kms. in 9 stages around the Dominican
Republic. The course includes Time Trials, demanding mountain stages and stages
that will bring the sprinters to the fore..
The countries and clubs participating this year are: Cuba, Guadalupe,
Kasajastan, El Salvador, Virgin Isles, Martínica, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and San
Germán-Cycling of Puerto Rico, California Team and AEG of the United States, and
the nationals: Hoop and Pedal, Phoenix, Mauricio Báez, Areperos, Rainbow,
Santiago, The Vega, St Kitts, The Roman, Mocha and Saint John...

VENEZUELA PRESENTE EN LA VUELTA INDEPENDENCIA NACIONAL
EN REPUBLICA DOMINICANA
Del 25 de Febrero al 5 de Marzo
Caracas (zciclismo) Ciclistas venezolanos defenderán los colores patrios en la
XXVII Vuelta a Independencia Nacional, que se escenificará en República
Dominicana entre el 25 de febrero al 5 de marzo, según informó el
presidente de Feve-ciclismo, Artemio Leonett.
El evento recorrerá República Dominicana y tendrá un trayecto de un mil 92
kilómetros en 9 etapas, entre ellas una contrareloj individual, y varios premios
de montaña y metas volantes.
Los países y clubes invitados son los siguientes, Cuba, Guadalupe, Kasajastan,
El Salvador, Islas Vírgenes, Martínica, Puerto Rico, Venezuela y San Germán-Cycling
de Puerto rico, California Team y AEG de Estados Unidos, y los nacionales: Aro y
Pedal, Fénix, Mauricio Báez, Areperos, Arco iris, Santiago, La Vega, San
Cristóbal, La Romana, Moca y San Juan.
