It will good to see Davitamon Lotto at the race, particularly since there is a chance that current champion Mauricio Ardila, who now rides for the team will, could be back to defend his jersey. The exciting Colombian climber, who rode particularly well in this years Giro d’Italia (although causing a little controversy on the penultimate stage on the final climb) made his mark in last years race on the Holme Moss and Snake Pass Climbs.

Unfortunately this year the Tour of Britain clashes with the Vuelta a Espana but , the super strong squads of Quickstep, Davitamon Lotto and T Mobile will still bring exciting competitive Teams. Tom Boonen clearly enjoyed his stay in Britain last year and it is hoped he returns with his Quickstep Team.

Other teams lined up to ride are the tough Belgian Outfit, Mr Bookmaker-Sportstech , the very talented Barloworld-Valsir , Spanish climbing Team Comunidad Valencia , from Japan Team Bridgestone and the team of the current British Champion, Russell Downing of MG.
