The national Tour of of Slovenia, known as "Dirka Po Sloveniji" in the local language, ran from the past Thursday through Sunday, with the kickoff situated at the town of Ptuj, the finishing line at Novo Mesto, and some racing on the roads of Slovenia as well as neighbouring countries Austria and Italy in between. Even if it was shorter than in previous editions, with no more than four stages on the menu this time, the Dirka had several moments of great cycling in store, and winded through some wonderful landscapes. Four English-speaking contenders from as many different nations (Australian Graeme Brown, New Zealand's Fraser McMaster, U.S. rider Tyson Apostol and Britain's Jamie Burrow), as well as U23 ITT World Champion Janez Brajkovic, the next talented addition to the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team roster, were among those battling it out on the way to Novo Mesto, and some of them (Brajkovic and McMaster) with excellent results too.

Below you can find a broad photo gallery of the event, with some great shots from all four legs. We start with pictures from Stages 1 & 2, but down in the page you can find the link to access the Stage 3 & 4 pictures.
