The Saeco-Longoni Sport team announces that during the afternoon of today (Friday, May 31) they received official communication from the Unione Cycliste International regarding a new case of non-negativity for rider Gilberto Simoni, found following an anti-doping test taken on Tuesday, May 21, at Caserta after the ninth stage of the Giro d'Italia.

According to the communication from the UCI, the substance for which the rider was non-negative is cocaine. The team will announce their official position towards the rider tomorrow, Saturday June 1.
