Mapei rider, Stefano Garzelli, has started stage 9 of the Giro, while him and the rest of the cycling world, await the results of his "B" test.
Speaking before the departure, the italian rider told reporters, "I hope they know the result today. They have told me the analysis could take 10 hours". But his tone is not that upbeat, "I'm not optimistic, I know it is difficult that the second analysis will be different from the first. Psychologically I'm ready to go home."
Garzelli expressed a few days ago that if the second result is positive, he might leave the sport: "I would take a long time off, I would think about myself and not just cycling. But anyway I know I'll be suspended. I may gradually decide to make a comeback, I love cycling but I'm not motivated to carry on at the moment."
