| Rik Verbrugghe washed away his frustrations after losing the prologue and the first mountain stage. He won the 7th stage in Camaiore and even more: he climbed up the GC again and took some time back. "The classification has never been completely out of my mind. I don't give up. It only just started now. I came for the pink jersey after the prologue victory, and for a good classification. I would have preferred to win the prologue..." is Riks reaction after the race. Verbrugghe said in the beginning of the Giro he hoped to end in the top 5 of the GC. |
