20-year-old Devid Garbelli, European Track Champion in the Points Race, won the 19th "Giro del Veneto" reserved to U23 and Elite-2 riders, who finished on Saturday in Breganze (near Vicenza) with two-Half stages.

The talented Italian took both the Overall Winner's red jersey and two stages,: Friday's leg finishing up to Rossano Veneto, after riders climbed the Cima Grappa, and Saturday's gruelling 12.3-km. ITT held in Breganze.

The Lombard rider (from Ticengo near Crema, same zone as Ivan Quaranta) finished with a 21" lead over Ukraine's Vladimir Starcik, and 36" on fellow countryman Michele Maccanti. Paduan rider Andrea Sanvido won Saturday's final half-stage. Besides the red jersey, Garbelli captured also the white one (young riders classification) and the blue (points ranking).
