Groningen-Munster (1.3) - Updated

Robert Forster secured a vital victory for Gerolsteiner in the second race of the German season, which to a small extent softened the blow that was delivered on Monday when Erik Zabel pipped main team sprinter Danilo Hondo to the post in the Rund um Koln. However, over similarly flat land from Groningen (in the Netherlands) to Munster, there was another sprint battle and this time Forster prevailed against less prestigous opposition to take his second (consecutive) victory in this race.

26 year old Forster beat German track rider Sebastien Siedler (Team Wiesenhof), whilst David Kopp (Lamonta) - stage and points winner at the Giro del Capo in South Africa - showed his good form with third place.
