What a difference a 10th place makes! One little point, a matter of a few cm., a few hundredths of a second, that decided the outcome of a three-week long battle. Yes, what I'm talking about is Damien Nazon's tenth place in the stage, and the relative point in Sunday's score, that gave Andrew Titman the win over Jan Dijkstra in their final one-on-one match, and the FINAL VICTORY in the first "Fabio's Fantasy Tour League". An apparently insignificant detail in the Tour de France economy proved fundamental in this Game. As both Final Match contenders got points from Cooke, Armstrong, Vinokourov and USPS, without that little help from the man in red, both Titman and Dijkstra would have the same score, and the well-known "who posts earlier wins" Tie-breaking Rule award victory to the latter.

Dijkstra actually came close to that, as Damien Nazon made his move too early in the final sprint, and several riders (including his brother Jean-Patrick) came around him in the last metres. Several riders ... but one less than Dijkstra needed to tie the match and win the League. Indeed the Frenchman saved a place in the stage Top 10 by a few centimetres, and gave Titman the 14th consecutive victory in a one-on-one match, and the final win in the game. Once again the Englishman proved unstoppable; this one has really been Andrew Titman's Tour.

Congratulations to the winner that, should he take the 3rd "Fabio's Fantasy Tour Game" too, as it's more than likely, would achieve an historical result becoming the Overall Champion in two DP's different Fantasy Cycling competitions at once! And congrats to Dijkstra, who had a sensational Fantasy Tour League, and gave stiff opposition to the future winner in the close final match too.

Other nine matches were played in the TdF's final day, to start from the third place play-off, where as expected Greggor Hall's edged out Tim Turnquist, winning by a 10-point margin, courtesy of Vinokourov and O'Grady, neither of them part of "tailortim". The Irishman completed an all-European podium, and will get one of the Daily Peloton's T-Shirts as a prize for his excellent results.

In the eight remaining challenges, Scotland's Doug Bennett comfortably edged out Manny Samaniego and took fifth, while the 7th place play-off ended in a draw, with both Abraham Martínez González and Patrick Shipley getting 43 points, all of them from the same picks. But the 7th spot went to the Galician as he entered his "Nunca máis team" before Shipley did.

Stage winner Jean-Patrick Nazon was part of the roster of only one man involved in the Play-offs: South African Gavin Linnett who, just like he did in their previous match during Round 1, got a resounding victory over Phil Miano, consequently taking ninth in the Final GC. Ten points from Thor Hushovd helped 2001 Fantasy Vuelta winner Jonathan Podmore to beat Germany's Niko Hinz for 11th place, while it was Romans Vainsteins that made the gap in the 13th place playoff between Andrea Grandi and Aurélien Delaurent, with the Italian beating the French.

The three remaining challenges had as many American winners: thanks to 2 points from Vinokourov, Jim Klepper beat compatriot Amber McFarlane for 15th place, while Lexi Tejeda got a very high score to edge past Denmark's Troels Bjerregaard and take 17th. Just like in the BIG Final between Titman and Dijkstra, Damien Nazon's point determined the outcome of the last match of the day too, with Jim Parsons scoring 50 points and Nigel Ravenhill 49.
