As if Friday's victory wasn't enough, Phil Miano did it again! The Italo-American not just enjoyed points from the "usual" suspects (Armstrong, Vinokourov, USPS) that helped him winning the previous leg, but even had Carlos Sastre in his line-up. And Haimar Zubeldia too. And with such a field, who could prevent "GS Damiano Miano" to take line honours ? Nobody. So it wasn't that difficult for "Filippo" to write his name in the double stage winner list, besides Harm Hannemayer, Walt Armstrong (so far the only stage winner with that surname ...) and Jan Dijkstra.

And whereas on Saturday Miano took the stage by 1 points only, this time the margin was much wider: stage runner-up Patrick Shipley (".45 all americian") finished 10 points down: without support from Zubeldia, even 6 points from Baden Cooke proved ... pointless. But for sure it was an excellent result for the "Americ(i)an" that, just like Miano, is doing well in the 1st "Fabio's Fantasy Tour League" too.

The remaining podium place was an all-Basque affair, a battle between Aritz Azkune and Josu Sampelayo. In the end it was Azkarrak that edged out "orange gudariak" (gudariak= warrior in the Basque language, of course) by a 3-point margin, even without "orange warrior" Haimar Zubeldia in the roster: points from Basso (8) Cooke (6) and USPS (6) helped him to win the "Basque derby" for third place, a well-deserved prize in a day fans from Euskadi filled the Pyrenean streets.

Two ladies, Céline Tytgadt and Judith Angela, followed. A good result at last for this website's Belgian correspondent, so far having quite a poor Fantasy Tour, but able to make the mark on Saturday thanks to Sastre, Mayo, Armstrong and USPS. Four Americans filled the remaining Top 10 places: Alex Parker, George Crawford, Chuck Wilkins (another top 10 placing for the former "red lantern") and Janna Trevisanut. Just like Céline, finally also the Daily Peloton's "Site_Goddess" had an excellent stage in quite a poor Tour. Besides Phil, also Nancy Miano did well on Saturday, as "Who Knows?!" placed 14th.

Down in the bottom of the bunch, four teams didn't get any points on Saturday. As usual the Tie-breaking Rules were applied to the Top 50 Virtual Teams in the Stage Classification only.

Titman is now the red hot favourite to take the title, and one of his main rivals definitely is Gavin Linnett: the South African added 40 more points to his overall score (still the best one without taking into consideration the Stage Bonuses), courtesy of Armstrong, Cooke, Mayo and USPS, and kept third place in the GC, although his lead over what might be regarded as Titman's # 1 rival, Holland's Jan Dijkstra (whose "Sprints by Spurts" team, unlike "Khumbaya", contains Asia's best rider Alexandre Vinokourov)m is no less than 8 points. Dijkstra took fourth place from fellow countryman G.B. Van Gelderen, and with the presence of "Robasco" there's no less than THREE Dutch teams in the Top 5 overall.

As for the rest for the Top 10, watch out for Jim Klepper, currently sitting in seventh place: with Armstrong, Vinokourov and Mayo in the roster of "Team Oscar", the American can be a serious GC threat. Probably more than Moritz Kufferath, now still one point ahead of him, but lacking both the Kazkah and Euskaltel's Mayo, even if all of "KuffiCyclers'" roster members have been able to score points. Klepper is sorrounded by Germans, with Robert Haas two points behind him, while the Top 10 is completed by Amber McFarlane (who moved up one placed into ninth) and Al Alvares.

Due to the Tie-breaking rules Walt Armstrong is out of the Top 10 instead, and all other guys whose sprinter-studded Virtual Teams stole the show in the Tour's first half (Hofgaard, Buqueras, Tveitereid) are - not surprisingly - losing positions in the GC. The best-placed team with Jan Ullrich as "A" rider still is "Dahms", well outside the Top 100 spots, even though it but will certainly make some significant gains in days to come.

Stage winner Phil Miano managed to get into the Top 100 instead, although the Italian-American is just in 76th place, more than 170 points down to the current leader, and 36 points behind Saturday's stage runner-up Patrick Shipley. The stage podium lifted also Aritz Azkune up into the Top 100 spots, while Josu Sampelayo couldn't hit the Top 200 either.

In the back of the bunch, thanks to more and more points from Jan Ullrich Tam Ravenhill could put more and more points into Alan McFarlane.
