Kelme Tour Team

With the withdrawal of team leader Oscar Sevilla from the Tour de France start list, “Team of the Paw” Kelme have announced the ten riders from which the final selection of 9 riders will be made. They are:

Juan M. Cuenca Martinez (Spa)

Isaac Galvez Lopez (Spa)

Ignacio Gutierrez Cataluna (Spa)

José E. Gutierrez Cataluna (Spa)

David Latasa Lasa (Spa)

Jesús Manzano Ruano (Spa)

David Muñoz Banon (Spa)

Ivan Parra Pinto (Col)

Javier Pascual Llorente (Spa)

Antonio Tauler (Spa)

The rider most likely to be dropped from the squad will probably come from either Cuenca, Ignacio Gutierrez or Munoz.

Isaac Galvez Lopez, Kelme's main sprinter, who has had success in the Challenge Illes Balears 2003 earlier in this season, will be looking for stage wins.

In the mountains and for the General Classification, J.E. Gutierrez and the young Manzano, both who rode well in the last Vuelta, are good all rounders and may be promoted up to team Captain.

Pascual Llorente, the 7 day stage specialist who won two stages and the Vuelta Ciclista a Murcia 2003 and one stage and the Vuelta a Andalucia "Ruta Ciclista Del Sol 2003, will be looking to see whether he can move up a division for success in the Grand Tours.

It would seem likely that the team will concentrate on stage victories rather than having any GC hopes.
