After last year's American victory, it's time for Switzerland to celebrate: Franco Marvulli and Alexander Aeschbach has won on Sunday the 3rd edition of the Six Days of Moscow after a thrilling final; thanks to a couple of excellent sprints from Marvulli in the very last part of the very last night of competition, the helvetic pair regained the overall lead they had previously lost to Holland's Slippens and Stam. Their Dutch rivals could snatch second place only, while surprising Alexei Schmidt took the host country to the final podium, along with Italian veteran Marco Villa, at the expense of Jérôme Neuville and Franck Perque; the french superstars were a bit disappointing and couldn't get higher than fourth. Another foreigner paired to a Russian contender, South Africa's Jean Pierre van Zyl (partnered by Andrei Minashkin) finished in fifth place, two laps down to the Top 4 teams. The all-Russian pair made up of Sergei Sevastianov and Sergei Kulakov pulled out of competition on the ultimate day.
