Just one night to go, and many hopes for German stars Kappes and Beikirch to claim victory for the second time this season. Despite both the "Alpen-express" and Italy's Villa and Martinello achieved a 200-point score and gained a bonus lap, the Germans retained the lead as they have got many more points than their closest rivals. A lead that could prove wide enough for them to take the title on Wednesday night.
Bad news for Scott McGrory and Matt Gilmore instead. Their score is excellent, but after the above mentioned pairs gained a lap on Tuesday, the Aussie-Belgian duo is one more time out of the podium places, although they could get back into the top 3 overall in the final session. Crowd favourite Dörich and fellow German Jens Lehmann move dup to fifth place, while Slippens and Stam lost all their chances to repeat victory after Bremen, even though they are close to gain bonus lap. As for Marty Nothstein and Adriano Baffi, the Italian-American team is back into spot number ten, nine laps down on GC. Switzerland's Franco Marvulli and Alexander Aeschbach have a great score, even better than Villa and Martinello's but after losing 15 laps in 5 days they are light years behind the podium places.
