Track - Six Days of Dortmund: Night 5 Results & GC

No changes at the top of the ranking: with just one night of competition to go, favourites Rolf Aldag (Germany) and Silvio Martinello (Italy) still keep the lead, and even with a broader margin (now 84 points) over the new runner-ups, Germany's Beikirch and Kappes. But the "Andreas & Andreas" pair is very close to achieve a 300-point score, and consequently gain a bonus lap, that could take them all the way to the first place overall.

Good news for the Germans, bad news for Stuart O'Grady and Scott McGrory, as the all-Australian pair lost a lap to all other top contenders and moved down to fourth after Monday night's session. They remain one of the four strong contenders for final victory, but are now trailing behind Risi and Betschart, who regained a podium spot. Of course also Stuey and mate are close to get 300 points and the relative bonuslap.

American Marty Nothstein and Aussie-Belgian Matt Gilmore were once again the fastest ones in the 1-km. TT (by clicking a time of 57"30), but lost another lap to the top-placed pairs, and are now six laps down on the Overall Ranking. Britain's Wiggins and Newton moved up one place thanks to the simultaneous abandons of Germans Gerd Dörich and Frank Kowatschitsch. Their respective teammates, Mario Vonhof and Lars Teutenberg, joined efforts to set up a new pair, currently in 10th place.

New leading duo in the Stayers competition: Swiss contenders Peter Jörg and René Aebi.
