Track - Six Days of Dortmund: Night 1 Results & GC

Six Days of Dortmund - Night One: Main favorites Rolf Aldag (winner of the last two editions when paired to Erik Zabel, but the latter is not joining the party this year) and Italy's Silvio Martinello are only in third place after the first night of competition, one lap behind the leading duo, made up of their most dangerous rivals, Switzerland's Risi and Betschart (nicknamed "Der Alpenexpress"), who moved to the top spot after getting 56 points, six more than the all-German pair consisting of Andreas Beikrich and Andreas Kappes.

Aussie contenders Stuart O'Grady and McGrory are ranked fourth, while American Marthy Nothstein, paired to Australian-born Belgian Matthew Gilmore, is in sixth place after night one.

Holland's Robert Slippens and Danny Stam, winners of "Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen" (Flemish Championships) four days ago in Gent, weren't exactly off to a flying start, as they are in 12th place, three laps down to the Swiss "Alpine Express".
