Luis Leon Sanchez has 22 second lead over Alaphillipe heading into final weekend

Astana's Luis Leon Sanchez has maintained a solid lead after a series of stages that saw Stage 4 ITT winner Wout Poels (Sky) out with a broken Collar Bone and John Degenkolb (Trek) abandoning with Bronchitis.

With Rudy Molard's win today for Groupama-FDJ France has enjoyed a fabulous run at the 2018 Paris Nice, winning four of six stage and with Julian Alaphilippe of Groupama - FDJ in second spot on GC. Molard took off with 2km to go to outwitoutwitted most of the leading contenders to clinch his first World Tour win, the second for his team after Arnaud Demare's in stage 1 in Meudon. Tim Wellens (Lotto Soudal) took secondwas runner-up at two seconds

Unfortunately for the French it is a Spaniard blotting out a clear view of the sun in the form of Luis Leon Sanchez inching ahead to go into the final weekend with a 25 second lead.
