Stage 4: Trentin's turn to take the top spot.

Tarragona. Anella Mediterránea 2018, Tuesday, August 22th – After finishing second behind teammate Yves Lampaert on stage 2, Matteo Trentin (Quick-Step Floors) took full advantage of a chance at victory on stage 4, on Tuesday at Tarragona.

With stage wins at the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, the Italian rider dominated the sprint ahead of Juanjo Lobato (LottoNL-Jumbo) and Tom Van Asbroeck (Cannondale-Drapac). The result makes it two stage victories for Quick-Step at La Vuelta 2017, and 18 for the Belgian team overall at the Spanish Grand Tour.

Chris Froome (Team Sky) steered a safe course through the day's challenges to retain the red jersey, though with David de la Cruz (Quickstep Floors) Nicolas Roche (BMC) and Tejay Van Garderen equal on just two seconds behind.
