Stage 17: La Mure - Serre-Chevalier, 183km

Primoz Roglic pulls off dramatic solo win in Serre Chevalier while the GC is given a big shake up.

Roglic (Team Lotto JumboNL), who attacked his breakaway companions on the final climbof a hard first day in the Alps, enjoyed a 1'13" advantage over a chasing group containing Rigoberto Uran (Cannondale-Drapac) and Chris Froome (Sky). A big chase at speed off the Galbier saw Froome and Uran gain time over GC rivals with the Columbian moving into second spot overall. Fabio Aru dropped off the podium after struggling to keep in contact. Alnberto Contador reappeared in the top ten after leading a break up the Galibier and now sits in ninth spot.

A major casuality of the day was Marcel Kittel who was forced to abandon after a crash early in the stage. With his parting the lead in the points jersey passed to Michael Matthews.
