7-Up's Oscar Pineda Wins Michelin Classic

7-Up's Oscar Pineda continued 7-Up/Nutrafig's winning streak in South Carolina Saturday, when he pulled away from a lead group of four riders in the final meters to win the Pro I-II division of the 18th Annual Michelin Cycling Classic in downtown Greenville, SC. Oscar's older brother, Juan, won the event last year.

Pineda, a native of Guatemala who lives in New York City, was thrilled with his victory. "This is the sweetest... this is the biggest race I've won," he told local reporters.

Chicagoan Gustavo Carrillo finished second, followed by Prime Alliance's Matt DeCanio and Chris Foster of Greensboro, N.C.

113 riders began the race; 47 finished.
