Jessie Daams has won the final stage in the Thuringen Rundfahrt. In Zeulenroda Daams (AA Drink-Leontien.nl) won the sprint from her breakcompanion Elisa Longo Borghini. The two attacked out of the bunch in the final to win with a small lead on the bunch led home by Sharon Laws followed by Trixi Worrack and Judith Arndt. The latter one secured her overall win. Trixi Worrack and Emma Johansson completed the overall podium.

The 106,4 km stage started in chilly weather conditions but as the day got along the weather improved and it was dry during the whole stage. After some breaks from riders from Abus Nutrixxion and Kleo Ladies the first real break came from Romy Kasper, Nathalie Lamborelle and Liesbet de Vocht. But the break didn't last long as everything was together on the first of four times up the "Hankaberg". The "Hankaberg" is a climb named to local Hanka Kupfernagel.

After the first time up the Hankaberg a leading group of 35 riders was formed including all the favorites. At the first intermediate sprint Arndt decided to attack early to secure the maximum points and valuable seconds for the overall ranking. Worrack and Johansson followed in second and third.

The second time up the Hankaberg a small break got away including Claudia Häusler, Mascha Pijnenborg, Elisa Longo Borghini, Sarah Düster and Natalia Boyarskaya. Longo Borghini crossed the top in first place followed by Hausler and Boyarskaya. The bunch was not far behind and after the climb all came back together. In the third of four laps a leading group of seven was formed including Elisa Longo Borghini, Sarah Düster, Elena Cecchini, Natalia Boyarskaya, Mascha Pijnenborg, Petra Dijkman and Claudia Häusler. They created a maximum gap of 50 seconds on a chasing group of 27 riders.

After 50 km of racing the lead group reduced to six as Häusler dropped back to the bunch to join her team to control the race for their team captain and overall leader Judith Arndt. On the third climb of the Hankaberg the break was caught but due to the efforts of Johansson and Longo Borghini the leading group broke into several parts. On the run to the second sprint, Arndt secured extra seconds ahead of Johansson and Häusler.

After the Hankaberg a leading group of 17 riders was formed and turning into the final lap the gap was up to 1.35 on the bunch. In the final lap we saw attacks from Kupfernagel, Spratt and Pijnenborg but all without success. On the final time up the Hankaberg Düster attacked and created a 14 seconds gap. Düster crossed the top in first place and was finally caught with 5 km to go.

In the last 3 km British national champiob Laws attacked followed by Longo Borghini and Daams. Daams tried to counter attack and drop the Italian but a sprint had to decided. Daams started the sprint with 150 meters to go and hold off Longo Borghini to take her first ever UCI win.
