2012 GP Cycliste de Rimouski (UCI 1.1WJ)
American Erin Donohue solo's to win in the junior women's UCI race GP Cycliste de Rimouski. Donohue broke clear out of a break of three to win with a comfortable margin over Josiane Lessard and Madeleine McConnell.
Erin Donohue (Team CHCH) has won the third GP Cycliste de Rimouski (1.1 WJ). The 18 year old rider from the USA soloed to the win after breaking clear out of a three rider break within the final 5 kilometers. Josiane Lessard finished in second 12 seconds down on Donohue. Madeleine McConnell, Donohue's teammate, completed the podium. 4:31 later Canadian Champion Ariane Bonhomme won the sprint of the first chasing group for fourth followed by Audrey Labrie, Kinley Gibson, Gabrielle Matte, Amelie Bruneau, Karen Brocket and Allyson Gillard.

In the first 40 km of the race Canadian Champion Ariane Bonhomme was the best of the race and reduced the field to a couple of riders on one of the many long climbs on the tough 80 km course. About halfway Donohue, Lessard and McConnell attacked and quickly gained a lead of over one minute. As they approached the finish the gap went up to 2.00 with 30 km to 3.00 with 20 km to go to over 4.00 in the final 10 km.

On the last climb of the day before heading down to Rimouski Donohue broke clear from the others to add an impressive win to her palmares.
