|Belgium-based professional cycling team, Omega Pharma - Quick-Step, announced their nine man roster for the 2012 Tour de France Wednesday, bringing team riders: Sylvain Chavanel, Levi Leipheimer and Peter Velits for the mountains, with Chavanel on the hunt for individual stages. With over 100 kilometers of time trials in this year's Tour de France, World Time Trial Champion Tony Martin will lead Omega Pharma - Quick-Step in the time trials.
The men joining Leipheimer, Chavanel, Velits and Martin in Liège, Belgium at the end of June are: Dries Devenyns, Kevin De Weert, Bert Grabsch, who is a time trialing specialist and a former World Time Trial Champion. Also joining the Belgium squad are Jerome Pineau and Stijn Vandenbergh. Team Sports Directors: Davide Bramati, Brian Holm, and Wilfried Peeters will join the nine riders in the world's biggest bicycling race.
The 99th edition of the Tour de France begins on June 30th in Liège, Belgium with an individual time trial and concludes on July 22nd with a 130 kilometer road race in Paris, France.
