2012 Tour de Suisse
Stage 7: Gossau Inidividual Time Trial. 34.3km
Normally Fabian Cancellara (Radioshack-Nissan) would be expected to dominate a timetrial on his home soil, but he has lost both this year, the first to Petetr Sagan and now to Swedish rider Fredrik Kessiakoff (Astana). Kessiakoff covered the 34.3km course in 46'36.710 with Cancellara just 1.8" adrift. It's good news of sorts for the Swiss whose preparations ofr the London Olympics are going well following the crash that broke his collarbone in several places back in April. Third place went to Cancellara's teammate Maxime Monfort, at 20".

Rui Costa (Movistar) dug deep to finish in eight spot, 41" down and managed to actually to extend his lead. He now has a 50" gap to new second place man Roman Kreuziger with Robert Gesink in third. Frank Schleck slipped to fifth behind Alejandro Valverde.
Stage 8 takes the riders from Bischofszell to Arosa. At the end of the 148.2km stage the riders face a Haute Categorie to the finish at 1739m.
