2012 Tour de Suisse
Stage 6: Wittnau - Bischofszell 198.5 KM
The Peter Sagan show rolled into the pretty little town of Bischofszell giving the Slovakian his fourth win of the race. Sagan is giving the impression he can win at will, no matter the circumstances. It the widely predicted sprint Sagan found himself boxed in the peloton and almost pushed in the barriers by Swiss rider Michael Albasini, but once more proved capable of dominating leaving yongster Ben Swift (Sky) and Allan Davis (Orica GreenEDGE) to pick up the second and third spots. Albasini squeezed in fourth missing out on the honours.

A breakaway did try to thwart the outcome leading from the 35km into the race. Rubens Bertogliatti was also among the five riders at first. He was just 1'45" down on GC and at one point was virtual leader on the road. Fortunately for his companions before the peloton woke up to ththe threat he was not able to keep up the pace and had to let his escape companions pull away.
The last two surviving breakaway riders, Matteo Montagutti (Ag2r) and Troels Rönning Vinther (Saxo Bank), were only caught up with 2km before the finish in Bischofszell. As expected, Rui Costa (POR) managed to defend the yellow jersey of the overall leader during the last flat stage of this year's Tour de Suisse without any problems.
Friday's stage will be a time trial competition in Gossau. Fabian Cancellara is one of the favorites for the stage win in tomorrow's race against the clock. Let's hope the Swiss rider was trying to preserve his strength today when he reached the finish line with a deficit of almost 5 minutes.
