Stage 4: Orduna - Iurreta, 116 km
Annemiek van Vleuten (Rabobank) has won the final stage in the Emakumeen Bira. In the 116 km stage to Iurreta Van Vleuten outsprinted the leading group to win the stage. Emma Johansson finished in second with Trixi Worrack in third. Judith Arndt was awarded the overall win despite a crash in the last 3 km. Race leader Emma Pooley didn't made the break and lost almost two minutes on the wet and tricky roads. Arndt was given the same time as Van Vleuten due to the 3 km rule which denied Johansson the overall win.

The stage was animated by a break of two Australians Carlee Taylor and Australian road champion Amanda Spratt. The duo broke clear after 39 km after a first attempt of Spratt with Olds and Van Dijk was chased down. The pair gathered a maximum lead of almost three minutes before AA Drink and Rabobank started to chase.

On the Alto de Zumeltza (56 km) the gap was down to 1.40 as heavy showers started to come down. In the descent the bunch split into three groups. Emma Pooley got stuck in the third group but the groups came back together in the valley. Ellen van Dijk (Specialized-Lululemon) bridged across to the leaders and climbed the Urkiola together By the time the three leaders passed the 20 km to go banner the gap was down to 20 seconds.

On the last climb the Alto de Duna Judith Arndt took control and after the top a group of 16 riders was formed and reduced to just seven with 5 km to go. The seven included Emma Johansson, Annemiek van Vleuten, Trixi Worrack, Sharon Laws, Judith Arndt, Alena Amialiusik and Anna Sanchis. The latter one dropped a little later going into the final 3 km with six leaders. Race leader Emma Pooley once again missed the break and finished almost two minutes down.

Just after the 3 km to go banner Amialiusik and Arndt crashed. They both continued knowing they will get the same time as the group they were in due to the 3 km rule.

Van Vleuten took victory in the sprint over Johansson and Worrack. For a while Johansson thought she had taken the overall but due to the rules Arndt was given the win.
