GP Elsy Jacobs (2.1) - Stage 2
Annemiek van Vleuten wins final stage in Elsy Jacobs, her second in this event. Rabobank takes it all as Marianne Vos wins overall ranking.

Annemiek van Vleuten (Rabobank) has won the second and final stage of the GP Elsy Jacobs in Mamer, Luxembourg. Van Vleuten won the race ahead of race leader and team mate Marianne Vos. The two broke clear within the final kilometer after a crash in front of the bunch from Giorgia Bronzini and two of her team mates. Evelyn Arys finished in third followed by Daniela Gass, Cherisa Taylor, Annelies van Doorslaer, Megan Guarnier, Nathalie Lamborelle, Joelle Numainville and Christine Majerus.

In the 99,1 km stage in and around mamer (including 5 lap of 9 km) there was not much happening all over the race despite some small attacks. Rabobank, GreenEdge and some of the sprintersteams controlled the race all day. Diadora-Pasta Zara (Bronzini) and Rabobank (Vos/Van Vleuten) led the pace into the final kilometer but in the final corners two of the Diadora-Pasta Zara riders touched each other and hit the deck taking down World Champion Giorgia Bronzini, Hanka Kupfernagel, Romy Kasper and several other riders as well.

Vos and Van Vleuten took advantage of it to break clear. Vos started to celebrate her overall win with 100 meters to go allowing Van Vleuten to take her second stage win of the weekend. For Rabobank it was a succesful weekend winning all three the stages and the final classification.
