Allen was the last rider to start the 13,9 km time trial in the city centre
course in Copenhagen and powered to a final time of 19:18. Barker started
earlier and clocked a time of 19:20. Until that point Germany's Mieke Kröger had
the best time for a long time with 19:21. Addyson Albershardt was the top USA
finisher in 14th with a time of 20:19. The other American Grace Alexander
finished in 17th with a time of 20:30. Annie Ewart from Canada did it better
with a 7th place in a time of 20:04.
“I really like the course. Dead flat but nice and technical, which worked to
my strenghts.", thus the delighted winner. "I can't believe it. Last year I
finished in 11th and I really wanted to do bigger and better this year. I've
been doing this for a while and all the hard works paid off."

"I am really excited going into the road race, we have a great team and we’ve
been working really well together this year, so we’ll see on Friday. Nnext year
I will be moving up to the senior ranks…I can’t wait for that!” concluded Allen
who will be riding the road race on Friday alongside Jessica Mundy and Allison
Rice.
Elinor Barker took a surprising silver medal for Great Britain as everyone
expected Hannah Barnes. "I was a bit shocked to be taken to the hot seat area. I
never thought I was riding for the medals. I was hoping for a top 10 before the
race. I am only a first-year junior, so its looking good for next year."
