| Well I had a good Sunday last week, and definitely enjoyed my two recovery days at home!! I didn't do a lot, an hour or so each day, followed by a massage. And I even got cooked for, it's not a bad life really is it!!
But now it's time to focus on Sunday again. I will be doing a nice long ride tomorrow with a bit of motor pacing to stop feeling sluggish and lethargic.
We have a strong team for Paris-Roubaix!! It's pretty much the same team, (
Kurt-Asle Arvesen, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Juan Antonio Flecha, Mathew Hayman, Jeremy Hunt, Ian Stannard, and Bradley Wiggins) except Brad (Wiggins) is coming in to replace Swifty (Ben Swift). The mood in the camp this year has been great. The team in Belgium has got more results than expected, and everyone is really working well together. Even lacking the result we all wanted at Flanders didn't dampen the mood. Everyone gave their all and did what was asked of them so what more could we do?!
We have a recce (UK slang for checkout) of the course on Friday to remind ourselves of the cobblestones. We also have our new roubaix bikes to get used to. They have a longer wheelbase and bigger rear triangle, giving a smoother ride. We will use 27mm FMB tyres with around 5.5-6 bar pressure. Double bar tape and we are ready to go.
I for one can't wait!!
