Cycling Australia
Matt White's appoint reconfirmed to High Performance Program

Cycling Australia has today reconfirmed the appointment of Matt White as Professional Men's Road Coordinator for the Cycling Australia High Performance Program.

CEO Graham Fredericks was last week directed by the board of Cycling Australia to investigate issues surrounding the termination of Mr White's contract by the Garmin-Cervelo Cycling Team.  In his report to the board Mr Fredericks found no reason for Cycling Australia to reconsider the appointment of Mr White to the High Performance Program.

"The board is satisfied that Mr White's breach of Garmin-Cervelo Cycling Team policy was an error of judgement that he sincerely regrets but that it was nothing more than that ," said Mr Fredericks. "Matt has learned a lesson, the hard way, from this and we are confident he is fully aware of and committed to the policies that must be adhered to when working with the national program.

"We look forward to working with him and believe he is a valuable addition to our team."

White, 36, is a former professional cyclist who, during a 15 year career, represented Australia at World Championships, Olympic and Commonwealth Games. He comes into HIgh Performance Program as Australia prepares for the 2011 UCI Road World Championships, being staged in Copenhagen in September and the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Liquigas-Cannondale
Sidi Back to Win in 2011

Everything's ready for the 2011 season, with Team Liquigas Cannondale determined to achieve some important goals and stand out among the best formations in all races in which it takes part. As always, Sidi Sport will be there to support them.

am Liquigas-Cannondale is lining up with an exceptional cast of stars, from Ivan Basso, king of the 2010 Giro d’Italia, to Vincenzo Nibali, winner of the Vuelta a España

For the team's official presentation, the riders worked the catwalk wearing their new uniforms, as well as their new Sidi Ergo 2 Carbon Lite and Genius 6.6 Carbon Lite shoes, dedicated especially to them by Dino Signori. These shoes are in the new, attractive “bronze” version, enhanced with graphics and details that recall the official colours of the Liquigas-Cannondale uniforms.

Feet, and therefore shoes, are fundamental for any cyclist, they mark the point where the athlete becomes one with his bike, where the human and mechanical components meld to make a difference. Every champion has his needs and preferences; if Ivan Basso uses Genius 6.6 Carbon Lite, Vincenzo Nibali has chosen the Ergo 2 Carbon Lite instead. Sidi Sport will also be there with their unmistakable vortice Sidi, the riders' official racing socks, and they'll supply the team with shoe covers in two versions: one protects the foot from rain and wind and the other contributes to the aerodynamics of the shoe during time trials.

Sidi Sport and Liquigas Sport, have enjoyed a long lived partnership that's destined to last in time and that keeps getting stronger, victory after victory.

Te, and including the “green battalion” made up of great young guns like Peter Sagan, Daniel Oss, Jacopo Guarnieri, Elia Viviani, Kristijan Koren and Davide Cimolai who've been joined this year by Eros Capecchi, Damiano Caruso and Dominik Nerz.
