The Blue & Fucsia team announce an experienced team that boasts a tradition of stage wins and victories in the first grand tour of 2010 -  the 93rd edition of the Corsa Rosa...  'Gibo' Returns!


Lampre-Farnese Vini is ready for Giro d'Italia 2010.

The technical staff of blue-fucsia team selected the nine cyclists that will take part in the Pink Race:

Squad Statistics Lampre-Farnese Vini in Giro 2010:

  • The oldest cyclist will be Simoni (38 years old) and he'll be the blue-fucsia riders that has covered the most editions of the Corsa Rosa (13 editions)
  • The team boasts two Giro d'Italia winners: Gilberto Simoni (2001 & 2003) and Damiano Cunego (2004. Team Manager Giuseppe Saronni is also a two time Giro winner (1979 & 1983)
  • Youngest one will be Bono (26 years old)
  • Average age of the team is: 32.3 years. No riders will debut in the Pink Race for Lampre-Farnese Vini's cyclists.
  • The tallest athlete in Saronni's team will be Hondo (186 cm) while the shortest is Damiano Cunego (169 cm): average height of 177,2 cm;
  • Hondo will be also the heaviest rider at 75 kg, while Marco Marzano is only 58 kg, for an average team weight of 66 kg.

he team represents 3 Nations (Italy, Germany with Hondo and Switzerland with Loosli) and 6 Italian regions: Cunego is from Veneto, Bono and Marzano are from Lombardia, Righi is from Tuscany, Simoni is from Trentino-Alto Adige, Petacchi is from Liguria and Spezialetti is from Abruzzo.

In addition, there is also one South-African: Sport director Brent Copeland.

Four blue-fucsia cyclists have won at least one stage in Giro d'Italia: Cunego, Petacchi, Hondo and Simoni.
