Liquigas Sport’s response to the UCI’s position
regarding Franco Pellizotti: determined to understand and ready to take action
May 4th - Further to the statement made
yesterday by the Union Cycliste Internationale concerning Franco Pellizotti,
Liquigas Sport would like to announce that it acknowledges the decision made by
the responsible authorities in compliance with their current regulations.
In order to fully understand the situation and the factors which led to this
decision, Liquigas Sport has tasked its own physician, Doctor Roberto Corsetti,
to analyze the medical and scientific aspects relating to this case.
According to current analyses, the evidence which has been presented does not
seem to scientifically prove with certainty any improper conduct by the athlete.
Liquigas Sport has faith in the explanations that will be provided by Franco
Pellizotti and by the experts whom he has hired.
Liquigas Sport is extremely disappointed about the action that has been
taken, with particular reference to the untimely notification of the athlete’s
alleged abnormal values. These values actually date back to the summer of 2009
but have only now been made public on the eve of such an important engagement.

Pending further developments and until the final ruling is announced,
Liquigas Sport would like to state that it is ready to immediately take all
legal action necessary in order to safeguard its image, as it has already done
in recent months: both with regard to the cyclist should any improper conduct on
his behalf be confirmed and also with regard to the authorities and institutions
which may have unjustly caused this damage.
Liquigas Sport also hopes that the final decision will be made in reasonable
time so that it may intervene as quickly as possible with suitable action
against the authorities concerned.

dell’UCI su Franco Pellizotti: decisi a comprendere e pronti ad agire
4 maggio - In riferimento al comunicato dell’Union
Cycliste Internationale, diramato ieri e riguardante l’atleta Franco Pellizotti,
Liquigas Sport annuncia di prendere atto della decisione degli organi preposti,
nel rispetto dei regolamenti vigenti sottoscritti dalla stessa.
La società sportiva, al fine di comprendere appieno la situazione e gli
elementi a supporto di tale decisione, delega il proprio medico sociale, dottor
Roberto Corsetti, quale incaricato all’analisi degli aspetti medico-scientifici
relativi al caso. Allo stato attuale delle analisi le evidenze presentate non
paiono poter dimostrare con certezza, a livello scientifico, un comportamento
scorretto da parte dell’atleta. Liquigas Sport confida altresì nei chiarimenti
che l’atleta Franco Pellizotti fornirà attraverso la sua persona e tramite
esperti da lui incaricati.
La società esprime con forza il proprio grave disappunto circa la procedura
attuata, con particolare riferimento alla mancata tempestività della
comunicazione delle presunte alterazioni nei valori fisiologici dell’atleta,
risalenti all’estate 2009 e rese invece note alla vigilia di un appuntamento
importante.
In attesa degli ulteriori sviluppi e una volta conosciuta la sentenza
definitiva, Liquigas Sport si dichiara pronta ad intraprendere senza alcuna
esitazione tutte le azioni legali necessarie a tutelare la propria immagine,
come già dimostrato nei mesi scorsi: sia nei confronti del corridore qualora
venisse confermato un comportamento scorretto dello stesso, sia nei confronti
degli organi e delle istituzioni che ingiustamente possano aver generato tale
danno.
Liquigas Sport auspica peraltro che la decisione definitiva venga presa in tempi
ragionevoli, al fine di poter intervenire tempestivamente a riguardo con le
opportune azioni presso gli organi competenti.

4 mai - Pour ce qui concerne le communiqué de l’Union Cycliste Internationale,
diffusé hier et concernant l’athlète Franco Pellizotti, Liquigas Sport annonce
qu’elle prend acte de la décision des organes préposés, dans le respect des
règlements en vigueur signés.
La société sportive, afin de comprendre pleinement la situation et les
éléments qui sont à l'origine de cette décision, délègue son propre médecin
social, le docteur Roberto Corsetti, chargé d'analyser les aspects médicaux et
scientifiques de ce cas. À l’état actuel des analyses, les résultats présentés
ne semblent pas pouvoir démontrer avec certitude, scientifiquement, un
comportement incorrect de la part de l’athlète. Liquigas Sport attend aussi avec
confiance les éclaircissements que l'athlète Franco Pellizotti fournira
personnellement ainsi qu’à travers des experts nommés par lui-même.
La société exprime avec force son profond désappointement au sujet de la
procédure appliquée, surtout pour ce qui concerne le manque de rapidité de la
communication des altérations présumées dans les valeurs physiologiques de
l’athlète, qui remontent à l’été 2009 et qui sont communiquées à la veille d’un
rendez-vous important.
Dans l’attente des développements ultérieurs et après avoir pris connaissance
de la sentence définitive, Liquigas Sport se déclare prête à entreprendre sans
aucune hésitation toutes les actions légales nécessaires à sauvegarder sa propre
image, comme elle l’a déjà montré durant ces derniers mois : aussi bien vis à
vis du coureur si un comportement incorrect de sa part devait être confirmé, que
vis-à-vis des organismes et des institutions qui pourraient avoir injustement
causé ce dommage.
Liquigas Sport espère en outre que la décision définitive sera prise dans des
délais raisonnables, afin de pouvoir intervenir rapidement avec les actions
opportunes auprès des organismes compétents.
