Katie Compton Dominates the field to take her second World Cup and solidify her lead in the UCI Rankings... Results updated Standings and Photos

American Katie Compton (Planet Bike) took her second World Cup victory of the season winning in the best of ways, arriving alone at the finish after dropping World Champion Marianne Vos (DSB Bank) in the final two laps. As in the men's race the women's contest came down to a battle of the two strongest riders with Compton and Vos out distancing their rivals.

Compton continues on track to win the 2009  UCI Cyclocross World Cup, and if today's performance is any example of what we can expect she will be the first American to do it.

Sanne Van Passen won the sprint of the three chasers to take third with Daphny Van Den Brand fourth and Katerina Nash of the Czech Republic filling out the top 5 riders. It would be another half a minute before the second chase group was led to the line by Hanka Kupfernagel.

Katie Compton solidified her lead in the UCI World Cup with a total of 120 points to lead Dutch duo, Daphny Van Den Brand by 30 points and third placed Sanne Van Passen by 35.  Currently, World Champion Vos is a bit late to the party missing the first race, 7th in the rankings with 50 points.
