The focus of the DSB Bank - Nederland team is less racing days for team captain Marianne Vos and stronger team performances. The last item becomes more important in international women's cycling nowadays. Vos is focusing long term on the Olympic Games in London 2012; in the intermediate years she will focus on the World Cups and the World Championships. For 2009 her goals are amongst others the Ronde van Vlaanderen and the World Championships in Mendrisio.

Sport-director Arthur van Dongen said that Vos has to learn to not want to compete in every race. In the previous years she has competed on the road, the track and cyclocross. During 2009 she will combine road and cyclocross. In the latter one she wants to show her rainbow jersey. Vos will make her 2009 season debut in Italy at the end of March. The first races have to be the ideal preparation for her first big goal the Ronde van Vlaanderen.
