UCI Women's Cycling Team Classifications Announced
Ranks announced for inclusion of Women's Trade and National Teams for Establishes Order  for World Cups and Class 1 Events.

UCI Ranks Decide Inclusion in UCI Races and World Cups
Description: The International Cycling Union (UCI) today (January 30, 2009) published a classification of UCI Women's Teams and National Federations. On the basis of this classification, and in accordance with Articles 2.1.007 bis and 2.14.004 of the UCI Regulations, a list of women’s teams and national teams entitled to invitations to World Cup and Class 1 events has been drawn up.

Each year, as soon as the registration procedures for Women's Teams have been completed, and before the beginning of the season, the UCI draws up a classification to inform organizers which teams they should invite. This classification is calculated by adding up the individual points obtained by the best four riders of each team in the previous season. This allows an order of priority of teams and nations to be established. During the season, the classification must be taken into account by organizers when issuing invitations to teams to participate in their events.
