Team
The team for 2009 is a very strong and balanced team. Team captains are former Giro D'Italia winner Gilberto Simoni and 2008 Paris-Nice winner and classic specialist Davide Rebellin. The goal for both riders is to do well in the Giro D'Italia. Simoni wants to battle for the overall win while Rebellin is going to hunt for stage wins, with hopes to wear the Maglia Rosa for at least one day. Davide Rebellin has also set his focus on the World Championships in Mendrisio later in the year. For Gilberto Simoni 2009 will be his last season as a professional.

Along with Rebellin and Simoni, another talented star is on the team, Alessandro Bertolini. Bertolini won a stage in the Giro last year and was one of the best riders of the team the year before when he won several of Italian Semi-Classics.

The team is also counting on talented Francesco Ginanni. Ginanni had a real breakthrough year in 2008 with victories in the Giro del Veneto, Tre Valli Varesine and the GP Industria e Commercio Artigianato Carnaghese.

The team has added some fast legs for the finishes with strong sprinters Alberto Loddo (Tinkoff), Elia Rigotto (Milram) and Mattia Gavazzi (Preti Mangimi). Mattia Gavazzi is one of the hot prospects for the future who won a stages in the Brixia Tour, the Circuit de Lorraine, the Settimana Lombarda, and the Giro di Toscana last season.

Goals
The big goal of the team will be the Giro D'Italia. Gilberto Simoni, once again will be back to go battle for his third overall win in his career. He will be supported by Michele Scarponi.

The team has enough talented riders who will be capable of winning stages with Alessandro Bertolini, Davide Rebellin, Francesco Ginanni and others. The team is also hoping for a wild card for the Vuelta a Espana in September.
