| Dietel, Häusler and Touffet signs with Cervélo
Pro Cycling Test Team
The Cervélo Pro Cycling Test Team is pleased to announce the signing
of Sandra Dietel, Claudia Häusler (both from Germany) and Elodie Touffet
from France.
Sandra Dietel, native from Lauf (GER) is 25-year-old
and will race her first pro-year for the Cervélo Pro Cycling Test Team.
The talented and ambitious rider rode in the last two years for the Team Stuttgart
and loves when the courses are mountainous. To her biggest successes belong
to date the 6th place in the 2008 national mountain championships, the 5th overall
rank in the 2008 German Bundesliga competition series as well as the six victories
in the season 2008 (including 2 Bavarian championships title).
Claudia Häusler, the second new rider from
Germany, is 23-year-old and lives in Wolfratshausen next to Munich. Since years,
she is an important German female rider. From 2006-2008 Häusler was a part
of the Equipe Nürnberger Versicherungen. The strengths of the talented
athlete are stage races and competitions with longer climbs. In 2008, Häusler
won a stage, took the third overall rank and claimed victory in the young riders
category of the Giro d’Italia. Beside this successes, she finished 11th
in the road race of the UCI World Championships in Varese and took several victories
as well as podium place in various competitions and stage races.
Elodie Touffet is native from France and moves
from Team Gauss, where she was last year under contract, for the new season
to the Cervélo Pro Cycling Test Team. The 28-year-old athlete belongs
to the experienced riders among the women’s cycling business. To her greatest
success belongs the second place in the UCI World Cup race Ronde van Drenthe
in the year 2007 as well as the stage victory of the first stage of the 2005
Trophée d’Or Féminin.
„With Sandra Dietel, Claudia Häusler and Elodie Touffet we have found
again three great athletes that fit’s exactly to our young team and strength
us on the so far vacant positions. With this decision we would like to stress
out our goal to the the Number 1 in the women’s cycling,” said Thomas
Campana. “The Cervélo Pro Cycling Test Team will start next year
as a German professional team and will also take part at the Bundesligarennen.
All preparations are done and we are ready for the new cycling season.”
