Tour de Feminin - Krasna Lipa (2.2W)

From July 10 to July 13 the a part of the women's peloton gathered together in the Czech-Republic for the Tour de Feminin - Krasna Lipa. Team DSB Bank dominated the race by winning three stages. The stage wins went to Mara Abbott, two times Marianne Vos, Angela Hennig and Priska Doppmann. A round-up:

Stage 1: Krásná Lípa - Krásná, 112.5 km
The first stage from Krasna Lipa to Krasna over 112,5 km was a tough stage. The stage was won by Team Columbia American Mara Abbott. In the end she had an advantage of 20 seconds on a chasing group of thirteen led home by Angela Hennig and Trixi Worrack. Abbott is also the first leader.

Abbott attacked with 3 km to go out of a large break and finished solo on top of a mountain.

Stage 2: Lípa Krásná Lípa - Ji?íkov, 112.8 km
The second stage over 112,8 km was dominated by Marianne Vos (Team DSB Bank) and race leader Mara Abbott (Team Columbia). In another tough stage both girls had a gap of 56 seconds on Angela Hennig, Carla Ryan and Chrissy Ruiter. Due to her second place Abbott increased her lead on most of the other girls while Vos climbed to the second place overall.

Stage 3: Bogatynie (ITT), 21.2 km
The third stage a 21,2 km time trial in Bogatynie is won by Marianne Vos (Team DSB Bank). Vos who took her second stage win was 24 seconds faster than Pascale Schnider (Cervelo) and 37 seconds than World Champion Hanka Kupfernagel. Carla Ryan and Trixi Worrack rounded off the top 5. Race leader Abbott finished 13rd at 1.40 and lost her leaders jersey to Marianne Vos.

Stage 4: Rumburk - Rumburk, 73.5 km
The fourth stage over 73,5 km from Rumburk to Rumburk ended up in a sprint with thirteen. Angela Hennig (DSB Bank) was the fastest and took the third stage win for DSB in three days. Sarah Düster finished as second and Marianne Vos as third. Vos remained in the overall lead.

Stage 5: Varnsdorf - Krásná Lípa, 99.2 km
The fifth and final stage in the Tour de Feminin - Krasna Lipa from Varnsdorf to Krasna Lipa over 99,2 km was a very tough stage as well. Priska Doppmann (Cervelo) won this stage solo with a lead of 1.22 on Angela Hennig and Trixi Worrack. Race leader Marianne Vos finished in the first bunch at 4.30 and lost her leaders jersey to her team mate Angela Hennig (Brodtka).

In the final ranking Hennig had a gap of 15 seconds on her compatriot Trixi Worrack and 31 seconds on another compatriot Sarah Düster. Marianne Vos and Carla Ryan rounded off the top 5.

Lots of riders were disqualified during the stage because they crossed a railway while it was closed as a train was coming. We saw this a few years ago too with Hoste, Van Petegem and Gusev in Paris-Roubaix.
