Tour de France 2008 - Saunier Duval/Scott Final
Squad
Rubens Bertogliati and Aurelian Passeron performance in the national
championships earn a berth on Joxean Matxin's Red Bird squad.
After the National Road Race Championships, Joxean Fernández Matxin finished
choosing his nine riders for the 95th Tour de France, starting next Saturday.
Rubens Bertogliati and Aurélien Passeron's good results in their
corresponding National Championships (Bertogliati was 4th in Switzerland while
Passeron came in 7th in France) earned them places alongside Riccò, Piepoli,
Cobo, De la Fuente, Jufré, Del Nero, and Litu Gómez.
Alberto Fernández de la Puebla will be the substitute rider in the event of
contingencies before the "Grande Boucle" kicks off. After many honorable
positions in past editions, this year the yellow squad will seek to score one or
more stage wins that might come as a deserved reward to their efforts.
