La Doyenne the oldest of the classics and the final Spring Classic and the last
rite of Spring
Affectionately called “La Doyenne,” the Grandmother of great northern
classics and the final rite of Spring and last of the Ardenne's Trilogy
including the Amstel Gold and Fleche Wallone races. First run in 1892 the 261 km
parcours runs through some of the hilliest regions of Belgium in the scenic
countryside of the Ardennes.

La Redoute the day before the race, will be lined with fans by morning.

It’s a demanding race that favors a strong all-around, aggressive rider who
can climb. The race has been won by a veritable who’s who of cycling greats,
including Eddy Merckx, who won the race 5 times between 1969 and 1975. Paolo
Bettini returns this year with two previous wins
