Daily Peloton readers might like to know that I have e-mailed Rubens our congratulations on his great victory.
Zabel in Green!
No change there then - he will be hoping green turns to yellow by the end of tomorrow's stage in his homeland. Will be very interesting to see how the Lampre team defend the Yellow and the Telekom try to prise it away from them tomorrow.

3 Robbie McEwen (Aus) Lotto 26pts

Mountains - ?
So who is in the polka dot jersey tonight? Christophe Mengin - and remember the jersey is worth money. Expect, amongst other things, the excellent FdJ team to try and hang onto this prize.

2 Stéphane Berges (Fra) Ag2R Prevoyance 16

And by the way!
Bjarne Riis, 1996 winner of the race and CSC team manager, has a handicap this tour. In the best CSC tradition of lightbulb changing of Jalabert and prologue riding by Hamilton, Riis took his dog out for a walk and broke his leg.
He can neither drive nor ride a bike - get well soon Bjarne.
