Tour du Grand Montreal - Woman 2.1
T-Mobile Strikes Again! Oenone Wood joins the names of Bernard Eisel and Ina Teutenberg in what could be called "T-Mobile Week" in America.

The Tour du Grand Montreal was won by T-Mobile’s Oenone Wood, who won 2 stages on her way to the overall victory in the 5 stage race. The Australian won ahead of Trixi Worrack and her team mate Katherine Bates.

Stage 1: Châteauguay, 107 km
Stage 1 in the Tour du Grand Montreal was won by former World Champion and German sprinter Regina Schleicher (Equipe Nürnberger). In the 107 km stage from Châteauguay to Châteauguay she was the fastest in the bunch sprint to take the first podium step and the race leaders jersey. Oenone Wood (T-Mobile) was 2nd and Giorgia Bronzini (Safi-Pasta) 3rd.

Stage 2: Granby, 104 km
The 2nd stage in a circuit around Granby over 104 km ended up in a bunch sprint. Once again, it was Regina Schleicher (Equipe Nürnberger) who won the stage, her 2nd in as many days. The podium was the same as in stage one with Wood in 2nd and Bronzini in 3rd. Regina Schleicher remains in the lead.

Stage 3: Lachine (ITT), 3.5 km
The stage victory went again to Germany with Judith Arndt (T-Mobile). She won ahead of Dotsie Bausch and Trixi Worrack in a dead heat; with all the top three women with the same time, the difference was scored in the thousandths' of seconds. Oenone Wood, who finished as 12th, became the new overall leader.

Stage 4: Petite-Italy Criterium, 50 km
The 4th stage, a 50 km criterium in Petite-Italy ended up in a bunch sprint. Race leader Oenone Wood (T-Mobile) won the stage. She out sprinted Giorgia Bronzini who finished as 2nd and Trixi Worrack who was 3rd. There was also a large crash during the criterium, Rochelle Gilmore (Menikini) was taken to the hospital. With one stage to go Wood led with a quite comfortable time ahead of Worrack and Bates.

Stage 5: Mont-Saint-Hilaire, 115 km
The final stage in the Tour du Grand Montreal is one over 115 km to the Mont-Saint-Hilaire. On top of the Mont-Saint-Hilaire it was race leader Oenone Wood who took her 2nd stage win, in equal days. With this win she secured her overall win in this race as well. Trixi Worrack and Giorgia Bronzini finished as 2nd and 3rd in the stage at 2 sec. of Wood. In the final ranking Wood had an advantage of 11 sec. on Worrack and 30 sec. on Bates. Arndt and Thorburn completed the top 5.
