d'Italia Donne. Riders selected to ride at Pan Am Games.
Tina Pic to Lead Team in Women's Giro
The
Colavita/Sutter Home Women’s Cycling Team presented by Cooking Light has been
invited to join the top women’s cycling teams in the world to race the Giro
d’Italia Donne in July. Tina Pic, ranked among the top five female cyclists in
the United States, will lead the squad at the 10-day race, recognized as one of
the most prestigious events on the international cycling calendar.
Joining Pic will be Alison Powers, just back from Europe where she raced the
last two rounds of the UCI Women’s Road World Cup as a member of the elite US
National Team. Also riding in Colavita/Sutter Home colors at the Giro d’Italia
will be Andrea Dvorak, Stacey Spencer, Sarah Tillotson, and Iona Wynter-Parks.
Pic and Powers have also been selected to represent the United States at the
Pan American Championships in Carabobo, Venezuela, along with Colavita/Sutter
Home teammate Dotsie Bausch. At the Pan American Road and Track Championships,
Pic will compete in the road race scheduled for May 26, 2007. Bausch and Powers
will compete in the road race as well as the time trial, which will take place
on May 25. Wynter-Parks will represent her native Jamaica at the Pan American
Championships as well.
Charles Dionne Represents Canada in Carabobo
In addition, the Canadian Cycling Association announced that Charles
Dionne, who rides for the Colavita/Sutter Home Men’s Cycling Team presented by
Cooking Light, will represent Canada in the men’s road race on May 27, 2007.
