Team Caisse d'Epargne management, Abarca Sports press release in response to
speculation that Alejandro Valverde is involved in Operation Puerto and
contractual agreements with riders for DNA tests.

Relating to the news published in connection with Alejandro Valverde
Facing the news published these last days in relation with the supposed
implication of one of our riders in the so called OPERATION PUERTO, we are
obliged to make, with the greatest respect, but also with the indignation that
such unfounded or interested news cause, the following declarations:
1. All the riders forming part of our professional staff, whatever their
nationality, subscribed in a contractual way the clause by which they commit
themselves to provide their DNA. As a consequence it not true to say that among
those cyclists, some of them refused to give their DNA.
2. With regard to Alejandro Valverde, if there would be a doubt as for his
implication in the OPERATION PUERTO, these last days we received information
from all the competent authorities, national, international, legal,
administrative and sporting, and one more time, and they are already numerous,
we confirm that there is no new fact, indication, proof or investigation, which
allows, neither directly or indirectly, to connect him to the OPERATION PUERTO.
3. Lastly, we want to highlight the fact, if what precedes is not sufficient,
that Alejandro Valverde, present at this act, declared that he completely agrees
so that his DNA is checked with any element of proof existing within the
framework of the OPERATION PUERTO, as soon as the Courts of competent
jurisdiction would consider it necessary or convenient.
After this declaration, we want to underline the fact that all new attempt to
throw the doubt in the public opinion being based on unfounded speculations, not
only will be an obvious fact of unfairness with falsification of the truth, but
will also give place to the exercise of the legal proceedings corresponding to
the defence of the honour and the reputation of our rider, our team and our
sponsors.

En Relacio a las Noticias Que Atanen A Alejandro Valverde
Ante las noticias aparecidas en los últimos días relacionadas con la presunta
implicación de alguno de los corredores de nuestro equipo en la denominada
OPERACIÓN PUERTO, nos vemos obligados a hacer, con el máximo respeto, pero
también con la indignación que provocan noticias infundadas o interesadas, las
siguientes manifestaciones:
1. Todos los ciclistas integrantes de nuestra plantilla profesional,
cualquiera que sea su nacionalidad, tienen suscrita contractualmente la
denominada cláusula de ofrecimiento del ADN. Es por tanto falso, que ninguno de
esos ciclistas se haya negado a facilitar el ADN.
2. En relación con Alejandro Valverde, por si hubiera alguna duda sobre su
implicación en la OPERACIÓN PUERTO, hemos recabado información en los últimos
días de todas las autoridades competentes, nacionales, internacionales,
judiciales, administrativas y deportivas, y una vez más, y, ya son muchas,
confirmamos que no existe ningún nuevo dato, indicio, prueba o investigación que
permita, ni directa, ni indirectamente relacionarle con la OPERACIÓN PUERTO.
3. Finalmente, queremos poner de manifiesto, por si lo anterior no fuera
suficiente, que Alejandro Valverde presente en este acto, manifiesta
expresamente su plena conformidad a que se contraste su ADN con cualquier
elemento de prueba existente en el ámbito de la OPERACIÓN PUERTO, en el momento
en que los Tribunales Competentes lo consideren necesario u oportuno.
Tras esta manifestación queremos subrayar, que todo nuevo intento por
introducir dudas en la opinión pública en base a especulaciones carentes de
fundamento, no solo evidenciaran una manifiesta mala fe con falseamiento de la
verdad, sino que dará lugar al ejercicio de las acciones jurídicas que
correspondan en defensa del honor y del buen nombre, de nuestro corredor, de
nuestro equipo y de nuestros patrocinadores.

Relatif aux Informations Publiees a Propos de Alejandro Valverde
Face aux informations publiées ces derniers jours en relation avec la présumée
implication de l’un des coureurs de notre équipe dans la dénommée OPÉRATION
PUERTO, nous nous voyons obligés de faire, avec le plus grand respect, mais
également avec l’indignation que provoquent des informations sans fondement ou
intéressées, les déclarations suivantes :
1. Tous les coureurs faisant partie de notre effectif professionnel, quelle
que soit leur nationalité, ont souscrit de façon contractuelle la dénommée
clause par laquelle ils s’engagent à fournir leur ADN. Il est donc faux de dire
que parmi ces cyclistes il y en a qui ont refusé de donner leur ADN.
2. En ce qui concerne Alejandro Valverde, au cas où il y aurait un doute
quant à son implication dans l’OPÉRATION PUERTO, nous avons au cours des jours
derniers obtenu des informations de toutes les autorités compétentes, nationales,
internationales, judiciaires, administratives et sportives, et une fois de plus,
et elles sont déjà nombreuses, nous confirmons qu’il n’existe aucun nouveau
fait, indice, preuve ou enquête, qui permette, ni directement ni indirectement,
de le relier à l’OPÉRATION PUERTO.
3. Enfin, nous voulons mettre en évidence, au cas où ce qui précède ne serait
pas suffisant, le fait que Alejandro Valverde, présent à cet acte, déclare être
entièrement d’accord pour que son ADN soit vérifié avec n’importe quel élément
de preuve existant dans le cadre de l’OPÉRATION PUERTO, dès le moment où les
Tribunaux Compétents le considéreraient nécessaire ou opportun.
Après cette déclaration, nous voulons souligner le fait que toute nouvelle
tentative de jeter le doute dans l’opinion publique en se basant sur des
spéculations manquant de fondement, non seulement mettront en évidence une
mauvaise foi manifeste avec falsification de la vérité, mais donneront également
lieu à l’exercice des poursuites judiciaires correspondant à la défense de
l’honneur et de la réputation de notre coureur, de notre équipe et de nos
sponsors.
