Texas High School League Wraps up Successful Season
Dallas, Texas - The Texas High School Cycling League road racing series is declared a huge success after holding four events and seven different races. League director, Andrew Armstrong, says, "The season was fantastic. We saw great competition from all the schools and students and we have incredible interest in expanding the league for next season."

The inaugural race series boasts an attendance of 35 high school racers representing sixteen different schools competing in a season-long team and individual competition. Wichita Falls ISD won the team competition by edging out Birdville H.S. to claim the title by accumulating 244 team points to Bridville's 231.

In the individual competitions the top two racers in the men's A category held a commanding lead over the competition with Francis Hamre (Wichita Falls ISD) taking the series competition ahead of Tyler Harward (Birdville H.S.) with total points of 790 – 630 respectively. Meanwhile, in the men's B category Ethan Lane (Dallas Jesuit) won the series competition 315 – 270 ahead of Giancarlo Saldarriaga (Wichita Falls ISD.)

The women saw the closest competition with the top two finishers locked in a tie for first in the season-long competition. Josephine Eggelshwiller (Wichita Falls ISD) and Megan Baab (Birdville H.S.) both finished the season with 240 points but Eggelshwiller had the tie-breaker by winning the league finale and she took the series title.

Races are open to all current high school students who wish to compete for their school. Most teams are not even recognized by the school as a club and many racers comprise a one-person team. In fact five of the top ten teams in the overall competition were one-person teams however the top four teams are in fact teams because the point's structure favors team participation in order to foster a team atmosphere.
