The VDB Fiasco: A lot less than I would like to say

Out of respect to my sponsors and team-mates, I can't say what I want to about this jerk and the even mightier jerks at Domo Farm-Frites (although I will be writing something, somewhere...stay tuned). You wonder if they're really using their brains over there. They've already hired one doping maniac in Virenque and now its going to be VDB back in the fold. Again.

I'm all up for forigivng a man's transgressions...God knows I have made many mistakes in my life...but forgiveness doesn't necessarily remove the consequences of your actions.

I am sick of people like VDB tarnishing our already badly tarnished sport.

If the Belgian fedeeration, UCI, CAS or anyone else allows this man to race again, they will SEVERELY hamper the integrity of this sport, its controls and more importantly, the morale of anyone who chooses to stand strong in the face of enormous pressure to use a needle.

The guard must change. It must come from within, from the heart. Or all hope is lost.

I will always stand against doping. I can promise everyone out there who reads this of that.

Full credit to Giorgio Squinzi at Mapei for pulling the pin on his sponsorship. It leaves a lot of good, honest riders in the wind, but it sends a message. I would rather there be no pro cycling than a pro circuit with drugs.

After all, what's more important...the money or being able to look at yourself in the mirror?

Be true to yourselves first

P.S I have SOOOOO much to write about my wonderful time in France, but I need to find a moment to do it justice. I promise it will be up soon. Thanks so much to those of you who have e-mailed me. I will always answer, and I love to hear from you all!
